Nominations for the Student Representative Council are open. Download the official nomination form, complete it with the required documents, and submit it in person at the offices before nominations close on 3 September 2026.

How to contest
Candidates stand as independents or through a recognised organisation.
Independent Candidates
Stand on your own. Requires 50 supporting signatures from registered students in the current academic year.
Recognised Organisations
A recognised student organisation may field up to nine (9) nominees, arranged in rank order, via its chairperson and secretary.
Eligibility of Candidates
MUT SRC Constitution — clause 8.1
- 8.1.1No person shall be eligible to contest SRC elections unless he/she is a registered student in that particular year or semester of study;
- 8.1.2A candidate should have passed at least 60% of subjects/modules in the preceding annual or semester examinations;
- 8.1.3A candidate should be a substantial student registered for at least half of the full load in the academic semester or year of study.
- 8.1.4A student who is registered for only one module, is not eligible to run for office.
- 8.1.5A candidate must have been a bona fide student for at least twelve months to be eligible to contest elections;
- 8.1.6Pre-tech students shall not be eligible to contest SRC elections;
- 8.1.7A student who has been declared insolvent by a court of law shall not be eligible to contest SRC elections; and
- 8.1.8A student who has been found guilty of misconduct or an offence by a disciplinary enquiry, will not be eligible to run for office or be permitted to remain a member of the SRC.
